Fowles Wine’s restaurant and cellar door was a long-held dream for owner Matt Fowles, built by Hateley Construct with the farm’s character carried into every detail. Panoramic dining sits behind full-height glazing, with timber booths, textured glass screens and tables made from repurposed vineyard trellis timber.

The floor had to suit that warm, utilitarian look and stand up to a full house. We ground the slab to open the surface and bring out the character of the concrete, then sealed it with three coats of water-based epoxy. The result is a durable, easy-clean floor that copes with heavy foot traffic, spills and furniture, and keeps the honest, crafted feel of the building.

Working alongside Hateley Construct through an evolving design and a tight budget, we fitted our work into the build program so the floor was ready for the fit-out and opening.
